Alkagesta Reports Significant Growth and Diversification in 2025 Annual Results
Commodity trading firm Alkagesta announced a 19% increase in trading volumes for 2025, detailing expanded operations across various energy and commodity segments and new strategic ventures.

Alkagesta's recently published 2025 Annual Report highlights a 19% year-on-year increase in trading volumes across the group's primary commodity portfolio. The report, accessible via Alkagesta, underscores the company's continued expansion and diversification throughout the energy and commodity value chain.
The firm's operations in 2025 demonstrated a strategic focus on expanding its geographical reach and product offerings, moving beyond traditional fuel oil and distillates into new areas such as aviation fuel, metals, and crude oil.
Expanded Commodity Operations
Within light ends, Alkagesta sourced Naphtha from the Eastern and Central Mediterranean, facilitating sales into key Asian markets including Korea, China, Japan, and the wider Far East. The company also engaged in gasoline and components trading, spanning the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia regions.
Middle distillates operations involved gasoil and ULSD movements, connecting supply points in the Arabian Gulf, India, and the ARA region with various markets across Turkiye, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia, and the Mediterranean basin. For heavy ends, Alkagesta delivered over 500,000 tonnes of 0.1% ULSFO into the Mediterranean during 2025, supporting the shipping industry's transition towards lower-sulphur marine fuels.
Strategic Diversification and Sustainability Efforts
Alkagesta's diversification efforts in 2025 included the launch of a Jet A1 distribution business, leveraging NATO’s Central Europe Pipeline System. The company also acquired a steel trading firm based in France, marking its entry into metals trading. Additionally, preparatory work was completed for the commencement of crude oil trading in 2026, indicating further expansion into upstream segments.
In the biofuels and sustainability sector, Alkagesta focused on enhancing feedstock security by expanding its Used Cooking Oil (UCO) feedstock origination. This move aims to strengthen supply chains across critical markets. Concurrently, the firm achieved ISCC certification, which reinforces its commitment to sustainability, traceability, and compliance within the biofuels value chain.
