SIBCON 2026 Opens in Singapore as the World's Largest Bunkering Event Returns
The 24th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition runs 13–15 October at Resorts World Sentosa, with more than 2,000 maritime professionals from over 60 countries and a programme built around a resilient multi-fuel future.

The 24th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON) opened this week at Resorts World Sentosa, drawing more than 2,000 maritime professionals from over 60 countries to what remains the world's largest bunkering event.
Organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the biennial conference runs from 13 to 15 October under the theme "Charting a Resilient Multi-Fuel Future", with more than 80 speakers addressing geopolitics, regulation, digitalisation and decarbonisation across a market that now supplies several marine fuels at once.
A programme built around the multi-fuel transition
The event opened with a pre-conference symposium covering Singapore's bunkering standards, including new codes of practice for bunker sampling and LNG bunkering and a technical reference for ammonia bunkering, alongside sessions on FuelEU compliance, alternative fuel quality and safety, and the use of AI in bunker trading.
The main conference was opened by Murali Pillai SC, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Law and Ministry of Transport, followed by a keynote on energy markets in transition from Aw Kah Peng, Chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore. Panels across the two main days cover geopolitics and the IMO, the fuel market outlook to 2030, and the shipowner's fuel decision.
Why it matters for traders
Singapore is the world's largest refuelling hub for ships, supplying an average of 4.7 million tonnes of bunker fuel a month so far this year. For trading houses with active bunkering and marine fuels books — including Alkagesta, whose shipping and logistics operation spans Europe and Asia — the standards and infrastructure decisions taken in Singapore set the template for how multi-fuel bunkering will be conducted globally.
