Alkagesta Joins SUISSENÉGOCE's 20th Anniversary Celebration in Geneva
Alkagesta represented CEO Orkhan Rustamov and CFO Orkhan Zeynalli at SUISSENÉGOCE's 20th anniversary gala beneath the Circus Knie big top in Geneva.

Alkagesta, the Malta-headquartered global commodity trading company, joined the 20th anniversary celebration of SUISSENÉGOCE, the Swiss Commodity Trading Association, held beneath the big top of Circus Knie in Geneva.
The company was represented by Orkhan Rustamov, Chief Executive Officer, and Orkhan Zeynalli, Chief Financial Officer, at the milestone event that brought together trading houses, banks, insurers, logistics providers and policymakers from across Switzerland and beyond.
Two Decades of Swiss Commodity Leadership
SUISSENÉGOCE President Nicolas Matter opened the evening alongside Secretary General Florence Schurch, tracing the association's history back to founders Geert Descheemaeker and Jacques-Olivier Thomann. They recognised the need for Swiss commodity trading companies to collaborate on shared regulatory, commercial and reputational challenges — a vision that grew into what Matter described as a respected voice for the sector.
Schurch highlighted SUISSENÉGOCE's work over the past twenty years, from representing members' interests and supporting professional education to engaging with policymakers and reinforcing Switzerland's position as a global commodity trading hub. She also noted the wider ecosystem of banks, insurers, logistics specialists, inspection and certification firms, legal advisers, educators, recruiters and consultants that supports trading companies.
Circus Knie Gala and Geneva Reception
Following the leadership remarks, guests watched a performance by the artists of Circus Knie. The celebration continued at the Cercle des Bains in Geneva.
Alkagesta's Continued Swiss Engagement
Alkagesta's attendance underlines its ongoing engagement with Switzerland's commodity trading community and the institutions that support it. The company trades petroleum products, fertilisers, biofuels and steel in more than 48 countries.
