Alkagesta has been awarded the EcoVadis Committed Badge, an independent recognition of the company's commitment to responsible and sustainable business practice across its global trading operations. The badge was confirmed in September 2026 and covers the full breadth of Alkagesta's trading activities, from energy and biofuels to fertilisers and shipping.

EcoVadis is one of the world's most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings. Its assessment is evidence-based, scoring companies across four pillars — Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement — against internationally recognised sustainability standards. Rather than relying on marketing claims, the methodology examines documented policies, reporting and transparency. Achieving the Committed Badge reflects Alkagesta's measured performance across these criteria and provides a structured framework for continued improvement, consistent with the company's broader ESG framework.

The recognition sits alongside commitments Alkagesta has already put in place across its compliance and governance programme. These include ISCC and CORSIA certification for sustainable aviation fuel trading, access to EU ETS allowances, and ongoing investment in environmental research initiatives such as the Clean Caspian startup. Together they form a practical sustainability agenda embedded in how cargoes are originated, financed and delivered — not a separate reporting exercise.

Orkhan Rustamov, CEO of Alkagesta, commented: "Receiving the EcoVadis Committed Badge reflects the work being done across Alkagesta to embed responsible business practices into how we operate — not as a separate agenda, but as part of how we run the business day to day. As a company trading commodities that sit at the heart of the global economy, we take seriously our responsibility to operate with integrity and transparency. We see this as a foundation to build on, and we will continue to raise our standards across the areas EcoVadis measures."

For counterparties, the badge has practical weight. Procurement teams, lenders and charterers increasingly screen sustainability credentials during onboarding, and an evidence-based EcoVadis rating gives them an externally validated reference point when working with Alkagesta's trading desks or its shipping and logistics operation. It also supports the diligence conversations that underpin trade finance relationships, where environmental and governance standards are now routinely assessed alongside credit risk.

The award comes in a strong year for the company, which reported record first-half results in 2026 and continues to expand its biofuels origination and jet fuel presence. As noted in Alkagesta Market Insights, disciplined growth and risk management remain central to how the business is run — and the EcoVadis Committed Badge now provides an independent measure of the standards behind that approach.
