VIKING Appointed Global Partner for Dräger Marine Safety Equipment
VIKING has been designated as the Official Preferred Global Sales and Service Partner for Dräger's marine respiratory protection and mobile gas detection equipment, formalising an existing collaboration.
VIKING has been appointed as the Official Preferred Global Sales and Service Partner for Dräger’s marine safety range, encompassing respiratory protection equipment and mobile gas detection equipment for the maritime industry, gCaptain reported. This agreement expands upon an existing collaboration between the two companies.
The partnership reflects a strategic decision by Dräger’s management to engage with a global partner capable of supporting its marine products worldwide. Under the terms of the agreement, VIKING will serve as Dräger's trusted Official Preferred Global Sales and Service Partner for specific equipment across the global maritime shipping sector.
Formalising a Strategic Alliance
The formal signing ceremony took place on 2 September at SMM 2026 in Hamburg. Henrik Helsinghof, CEO of VIKING Life-Saving Equipment, commented that both VIKING and Dräger are recognised for their expertise and equipment quality. He stated that the partnership aims to leverage scale and collaboration to ensure continuity in supply and service within this critical area of safety and life-saving equipment.
VIKING provides maritime safety and fire-fighting solutions, including marine evacuation systems, lifeboats, liferafts, rescue boats, davits, personal protective equipment (PPE), and marine fire services.
Expanded Support Network
Dräger customers are expected to benefit from access to VIKING's global network of certified service stations, which serve cargo shipping, offshore assets, passenger shipping, navies, and coastguards, Helsinghof added. Dräger operates in over 190 countries.
The partnership specifically covers respiratory protection equipment, portable gas detection systems, tubes, and drug and alcohol detection kits, which form the basis of Dräger's maritime presence. Rainer Klug, Executive Board Member Safety Technology at Dräger, noted that for maritime customers, access to products and service from a single source is a key factor in maintaining readiness for safety equipment. He stated that in VIKING, Dräger has found a partner present where customers require complete safety solutions, particularly in key global port regions.
